26,2013 Frank L. Howard, 77, of Corvallis went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday. He passed quietly at his home from cancer. He was born in Ventura, to Jay and Ina Howard. His family moved to Philomath in 1946 where Frank graduated from high school and met his future bride, Diane Ferron.

They were married on March 2, 1957, and loved each other deeply the 56 years they were married. Frank served in the Army for two years in Korea. He spent many years coaching and umpiring Little League baseball, coaching youth basketball and attending his kids and grandkids many activities. For 15 years, he volunteered his time with the Benton County Search Rescue as an active member of the Mary's Peak 4- Wheelers. He retired from Oregon State University in 1997, spent time traveling, golfing and was an active member and small- group leader at his church.

He had a wonderful sense of humor that brought an amazing dimension to anything he was part of. When he laughed, the whole world laughed with him even the corny jokes. Most of all, Frank loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Diane; brother Wayne Howard; son David and wife Debbie; son Joseph and wife Cheryl; daughter Anne and husband Brian; daughter Laura; eight grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Wilma Avery; brother Jess Howard; and grandson Sam Howard.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Grant Avenue Baptist Church, 1625 N.W. Grant Corvallis. Memorial donations can be made to Benton County Hospice or Grant Avenue Baptist Church.
