Eighth Philomath. Deputies arrested Jerrad Keith Ellis, 19, of Corvallis for possession of methamphetamine after a scuffle.

Deputies had gone to the residence to serve a warrant and found Ellis sleeping at a kitchen table. A deputy thought Ellis was "pretending to be asleep" and "went to wake him." Ellis then reached for something on the floor. The deputy said he "could not see his hands nor what he was reaching for," and so the deputy grabbed Ellis "by his hair and lifted him up." At that point, a glass meth pipe fell from Ellis' lap to the floor, a report said. Ellis was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Also arrested was Jessica Valerie Damewood, 27, of Philomath, who showed a deputy "several other methamphetamine pipes that were stashed around the house," according to the report.

She was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of a controlled substance. Authorities had come to the residence to arrest her on a warrant for contempt of court. DUII 2:28 a.m. Northwest Third Street and Madison Avenue. Deputies arrested a 28-year-old Corvallis man for driving under the influence of alcohol; blood-alcohol level .12 percent.

CORVALLIS POLICE DEPARTMENT FRIDAY CAR PROWL 1800 block of Grant Circle. Sometime between Thursday Obituaries Lara F. Clinton Nov. 27, 1967 Jan. 28, 2006 Lara Franklin Clinton died Saturday at her home in Portland.

She was 38. She was born in Lima, Peru, to Susan Jeffries Clinton and Richard Lee Clinton. The family lived in La Paz, Bolivia, and Chapel Hill, N.C., before moving to Corvallis in 1976. She attended Jefferson Elementary School and Highland View Middle School in Corvallis, Colegio Roosevelt in Lima, Peru, studied at the Catholic University of Quito, Ecuador, and graduated from Corvallis High School in 1986. She attended -Southern College and the University of Oregon, and graduated with honors from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology in 1991.

She was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honorary and Phi Kappa Phi Scholastic Honorary. While in high school she was a playground leader for Corvallis Parks and Recreation Summer Day Camp. From 1989 to 1993 she held several positions at the EPA in Corvallis; from 1993 to 1995 she was the LinnBenton Food Share coordinator. She earned a master's degree in social work from Portland State University in 1996. A licensed clinical social worker, from 1996 to 2004 she was a service manager at Outside-In in Portland, where she worked with homeless youth as a mental health therapist.

She had wanted to work with adolescents since the age of 14, and took great satisfaction in helping others. She was an avid biker and walker, and enjoyed cross-stitch and reading. She was a model of strength and perseverance, and caring and nurturing. She leaves many dear and loving friends and the young people whose lives she touched. Left to remember her are her parents, Susan and Robert Schwartz and Richard and Rosalie Clinton of Corvallis; her sister Lisa Clinton and brother-in-law Derek Ruddy of Seattle, her grandmothers Mary Ruth Franklin Jeffries of Orange Park, and Nelva Dee Clinton of Orlando, and aunts, uncles and cousins in Maryland, Tennessee and Florida.

The family is grateful for the steadfast devotion of Lara's friends and colleagues. At her request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the acupuncture program at Outside-In, 1132 S.W. 13th Portland, OR 97205. George Kingsbury and grandfather, George L.

Kingsbury, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Corvallis after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Portland, the son of Thomas L. and Sarah (Graves) Kingsbury. George was a truck driver all of his life and also owned a commercial salmon fishing boat. He loved working on his farm, taking care of his animals, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Kingsbury of Ontario; children Debra and Brad Hanson of Corvallis, Paul and Natalie Kingsbury of Sweet Home and Steven and Kay Kingsbury of Bandon; brother Thomas L. Kingsbury of Tucson, grandsons Trent, Alex and Bryce Hanson of Corvallis Dec. 27, 1925 Jan. 29, 2006. Loving husband, father and Friday, someone broke into a car and stole an MP3 player, backpack and 100 CDs, all valued at $550.

DRUG POSSESSION 3:45 p.m. 500 block of Madison Avenue. Police arrested a 51-year-old Corvallis man for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. SATURDAY DUII 1:52 a.m. Northwest Kings Boulevard and Northwest Grant Avenue.

Police arrested a 20-year-old Corvallis man for driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless endangering; blood-alcohol level .12 percent. AGGRESSIVE DOG 100 block Northeast Conifer Boulevard. Police discovered an "aggressive and mean" pit bull that was tied up and abandoned. The dog was "a serious danger to anyone walking by," police said. After an animal control officer made several unsuccessful attempts to restrain the animal, the dog was sprayed several times with mace, then taken to the humane society.

ASSAULT 11:21 p.m. Southwest Second Street and Madison Avenue. Police arrested a 25-year-old Corvallis man after he tried to strike a man with a set of brass knuckles, but missed and hit his target's 21-year-old girlfriend in the face. Police said the woman had a swollen lip. The suspect was charged with assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

SUNDAY DUII 3:07 a.m. Northwest 15th Street and Northwest Harrison Boulevard. Police arrested a 20-year-old Corvallis woman for driving under the influence of alcohol; blood- alcohol level .20 percent. DUII 1:12 a.m. Southwest 15th and Max Kingsbury of Sweet Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Vicki Jean Kingsbury and sister Florence Bailey. The family is grateful for the wonderful support and services they have received over the past four years. A memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Fisher Funeral Home, with military honors.

A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6, at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland. Arrangements are by Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington St. S.W., Albany, OR 97321. Robert L.

Peterson Dec. 6, 1935 Jan. 26, 2006 Robert Lee Peterson of Corvallis died Thursday at his home. He was 70. He was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Arthur and Edna Peterson.

He married Marlene on April 3, 1955, in Sioux Falls. They moved to Philomath in 1955. He worked for Rex Willamette Industries and retired after 25 years of service. Robert and Marlene operated The Peterson Tree Farm on their farm located on the Alsea Highway in Philomath. He was a member of the Corvallis Moose Lodge.

Robert was preceded in death by sister Pearl Swensen. Survivors include wife Marlene of Corvallis; son Steven Peterson of Albany; daughter Katherine Carr of Street and Jefferson Avenue. Police arrested a 20-year-old Monmouth man for driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless endangering and minor in possession of alcohol; hol level .11 percent. STOLEN CAR 4400 block of green 1996 Acura Integra. MONDAY DRUG ARREST 9:03 p.m.

Southwest Third Street and Southwest Avery Avenue. Police arrested Jose Bernal Ortiz. 27, of Corvallis after a tipster said the man was headed to Salem "with a large amount of money to buy drugs." Police stopped Ortiz's car and, after Ortiz consented to a search, found a Ziploc bag containing nearly eight ounces of meth. Ortiz wascharged with manufacture delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. DUII 3:04 a.m.

Northwest Highland Drive and Northwest Sequoia Avenue. Police arrested a 20-year-old Corvallis man for driving under the influence of alcohol; blood alcohol level .09 percent. MARIJUANA POSSESSION 11:25 p.m. Northwest Ninth Street and Jackson Avenue. Police cited a 21-year-old Philomath man for possession of less than an ounce of the drug.

OREGON STATE POLICE SATURDAY STOLEN MUSIC PLAYER -8 p.m. Dixon Recreation Center, Oregon State University Campus. Someone stole an iPod from a weight room. 7, 1929, in Michigan, moved to the Philomath area with his parents and sister Lois, and graduated from Philomath High School in 1948. He married Charline Duckworth in 1952 and they soon moved to Burns, where he was in the construction business. In 1969 he bought the 7-K Ranch at Princeton. He is survived by his wife of 53 years; daughters Karen, Julie and Jolene; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters Lois Best and Alta Barrington; and many nieces and nephews. Services were held Jan.
