Arrest of John Fleming, no address or age given, on a count of first-degree burglary and a count of first -degree theft, three counts of first-degree forgery and five counts of conspiracy to commit firstdegree forgery.

610 Washington St. died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 81 and lived at 1065 S.W. Poplar Place. Mr.

Harlan lived in Benton County for nearly 70 years. Born June 17, 1904, in Beatrice, he moved to Oregon with his parents, Henry B. and Ivy L. Mownson in 1906. In the early 1920s he joined the Merchant Marines, where he worked before beginning employment with the Postal Service.

He retired in 1961. Mr. Harlan was a member of the National Retired Letter Carriers Association, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Anderson, Corvallis, and Donna Blanchard, Sacramento, and two sisters, Frieda O'Brien and Rose Elaine Warren, both of Los Angeles, Calif. A son, Robert L.

Harlan, preceded him in death in 1958. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Oaklawn Memorial Park. Pastor Earl Hering a of the Peace Lutheran Church, Philomath, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Heart Association, in care of McHenry Funeral Home.

Lester Burkett Lester H. Burkett, who worked for 22 years as a general contractor in Corvallis, erecting buildings such as the Pacific Power and Light building and the Good Samaritan Church, died Sunday at his home in Hillsboro. He was 62, and died of natural causes. He was born Feb. 24.

1923, to Floyd and Mabel Burkett in Newburg. where he was raised. During World War II, he served for four years in the Merchant Marines, moving to Corvallis in 1948. In 1970 he moved to Canada, where he had gold mining interests, and later settled in Arkansas. He returned to Oregon in 1976 and retired in Hillsboro.

Laila McNeese A memorial service for Laila Jeanne McNeese, who died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Albany on Friday, will be held at 5 p.m. today in Silver Falls State Park. Laila was 21, and lived in Lebanon.

She was born June 1, 1964, in Frankfurt Am Main. West Germany, to Inge C. and Ron McNeese. She was active in 4-H, attended Corvallis High School, and travelled throughout the West Coast. Her family described her as adventurous, generous with love and caring, and in search of a full view of life's diversity and drama.
