The son of Daniel and Elizabeth Gowan Cone, he was born May 25. 1868 at Plain City, Ohio. In 1883. he moved with his family to Oregon where they settled in McMinnville. On Sept.

25. 1895, he was married to: Cordia May Hodge at McMinnville. In 1901 the couple moved to Corvallis, living in the Corvallis and Philomath areas. Mrs. Cone died in 1962.

Mr. Cone was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church of Philomath. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. R. C.

Schreiber and Mrs. Gene Savage, both of Corvallis: one- sister, Mrs. John (Alberta) Copeland, Bellingham, five grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m..at the DeMoss Durdan Funeral Home with Rev. Walter C.
