Seagles, a lifelong resi-, dent of Harland died in a local hospital Saturday following an extended illness. The son of Lewis and -Mary Jane Lillard Seagles, he was born February 24, 1873, at. Harlan. Mr. Seagles had farmed and logged in the Harlan community until a few years ago when he retired and for the past six years he had, made his home with Mr. and Mrs. J. F.

Spriggs of Harlan. He is survived by one nephew, Dr. Gale C. White of Aberdeen, Wash. and one cousin, Lloyd Lillard of Sheridan.

Funeral service under the direction of the McHenry Funeral Home will be held in the Chapel of the Valley at Harlan Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Clarence W. Reynolds officiating. Monroe High school library Paintings by Gertrude Lahti. Paul Zedwick Dies In Albany Hospital Paul Zedwick, 85, long-time Corvallis resident, died Saturday at an Albany hospital. The son of James and Elizabeth Zedwick, he was born on December 28, 1877 at LaCrosse, where he spent his early years. On December 24, 1898, he was married to Mary Barta at Chicago.

The couple moved to Portland, in 1902 where Mr. Zedwick established one of the first hardwood floor businesses. In 1912, they moved to Corvallis where they lived on a farm three miles south of the city. 1 In 1921, Mr. Zedwick established a business in Corvallis and in 1925, expanded to Toledo where the couple lived until returning to Corvallis in 1943.

While living in Toledo, Mr. Zedwick served on the port commission and was a director of the National Security Bank of Toledo. Mrs. Zedwick died in June of 1957. Survivors include three sons, Paul Zedwick, Jr.

and John G. Zedwick, both of Corvallis, and Edward C. Zedwick, Canby: two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Mae Loudon, Toledo, and Rose Edith Zedwick, Corvallis; one brother, John Zedwick, Tigard; one half-brother, Frank Stepanek, Portland; 3 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m.

at the DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home with Rev. Roy E. Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow in the Crystal Lake cemetery. PEPPERY CHICAGO (UPD)-Pepper sausages with fresh raw oyster are traditional for the Feast of St.
