Gazette-Times, Corvallis, Oregon, Monday, April 15, 1963 Services Held Here For John W. Avitt John W. Avitt. 78, Corvallis resident for the past 32 years, died Thursday at a local hospital. He was born on September 22, 1884 in lowa.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home with Dr. George N. Reeves officiating. Interment was held at the Oak Lawn Memorial Park cemetery. The world's largest bicycle was a 10-seater, made in Waltham, in 1898.

The afternoon session will be devoted to workshop discussions of various aspects of the status of women, with prominent women from all over the state acting as leaders. The closing: session will include a conference summary by Wickes Shaw Beal of Eugene. Former Resident Dies In Salem Mrs. Sigvor Jackson, Salem, died Saturday at her home.

She was 79. Mrs. Jackson was born in Norway, coming, to the United States She lived at The Dalles, Portland and Corvallis-Philomath area before moving to Salem five years ago. Mrs. Jackson was a member of St.

Johns Lutheran church in Salem. Survivors, include a daughter Mrs. Elmer Otto, The Dalles; and sons Virgil, Philomath; Frank, The Dalles; and Vincent Brannigan. Two grandchildren also survive. Services will be held at the V.T.

Golden Mortuary in Salem Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at the Locke Cemetery in Corvallis. Lemke Mass Slated Requiem Mass for Catharine Anne Lemke, who died Friday, will be offered by Rev. Austin Johnson Tuesday at 10 a.m.

at the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the DeMoss-Durdan Funeral Home.

Ada Ellen Callaway, 96, a native of Benton county, died Friday at her home in Brownsville. Funeral services will be held at the Brownsville Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with burial in the Brownsville Pioneer cemetery under direction of the Fisher Funeral home of Albany. She was born in Benton county September 3, 1866, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

J.C. Hunter who arrived here in 1852. She was married to Burl Callaway in Albany on May 30, 1889, and had lived in Brownsville since 1900.
